Congratulations to Grace DeGennaro and dear friend Brece Honeycutt on the opening of Woven Mysteries at Aucocisco Galleries in Portland last night. This two person exhibition examines the woven mysteries of the natural world, ritual, growth, and the passage of time. Honeycutt has been exploring eco-dyeing methods in her rural studio in Massachusetts, where both native species and weeds have found meaningful roles in the organic layering and delicate stitching embedded like seeds in her new works on paper. Similarly, DeGennaro's beads of color create beautifully diagrammed trails that the eye might follow over the surface of her vibrating watercolors.

The exhibition runs through May 4, 2012, with a special closing reception that evening from 5 to 8pm for Portland's First Friday Art Walk. Contact the gallery for more details.
